Diana Canaday
Global US Classic Ms. 2012
Diana J. Canaday lives in Galivants Ferry, SC, on a farm with her husband, Mitchell, as well as, her cats and horses.  Ms. Diana loves training horses and her horse, Gizmo, is a red quarter horse cross that wants to be her baby.  Ms. Diana is an active member of Rivertown Toasters in Conway and serves as the Vice President of Education.  She is also a member of the Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild, American Legion Post 171 and Eight Et Forty.  

Ms. Diana has over 19 years of experience in the pesticide regulatory field and is the Pesticide Investigator for Horry, Marion, Dillon and Georgetown Counties in South Carolina.  She loves her job with the Clemson University, Department of Pesticide Regulation and enjoys serving the public.  

After work hours Ms. Diana invests her time in training horses, belly dancing, writing, watercolor and oil painting, reading, Trashion shows, sewing, and poetry. 

Ms. Diana’s enumerates her notable accomplishments as earning a BA in Agricultural Science from OSU, a MA in Public Administration from VCU, an Advance Communicator Silver from Toastmasters International and her most recent win of the 2011 Greenest Award in My Trashy Valentine Trashion Show, in which she made a dress out of plastic grocery bags. 

Ms. Diana is dedicated to promoting the Wellness Council of South Carolina, Toastmasters and http://thelongwalkhome.org/.  She is a Christian and believes in the stewardship approach to life: All things in life are resources (even trash) and are to be managed according to God purpose.  To be a better steward of her resources, this summer Ms. Diana is committing to take courses in which she will become a Certified World Class Speaking Coach.
